American (English) remake of the French TV series HPI (2021)
Synopsis
Follow Morgan, a single mother of three, as she uses her exceptional mind to help solve a crime by reorganizing evidence during her shift as a cleaner at the police department. Despite her sky-high IQ, excellent memory, and extensive knowledge of classified matters, Morgan makes a number of basic legal mistakes that anyone who has ever watched a legal show on TV knows not to commit. For example, in the first episode, she takes a document from a locked safe in the suspect’s legal office that will never be admissible in court – evidence obtained illegally. It also cannot be used to obtain other evidence – a violation of the legal doctrine of “fruit of the poisonous tree”.
Remake of HPI (2021)
In episode #2, she is reminded to wear gloves before taking evidence to the crime scene, and in #3 she takes all the documented evidence from the police station, completely breaking the chain of custody and rendering everything she took also inadmissible in court. This series revolves around Morgan (Kaitlin Olson), a woman who works as a night cleaner for the Los Angeles Police Department. When she accidentally looks at a case file, she becomes intrigued and makes some corrections to the homicide board. This makes the department realize that she has a talent for perceiving, assimilating, and organizing facts, aka evidence.
They hire her as a consultant
Consider her Will Hunting dating Adrian Monk. Like Will, she has an exceptional IQ and a sharp mind. Like Monk, she suffers from OCD, although she is not as neurotic as Monk. But she feels she must reconcile any contradictory data (i.e.

an itch that needs to be scratched). And although Morgan sometimes feels left out of society, she is very outgoing. I really like this series, although there have been many other police procedurals where a civilian with unusual talents works with the police. Morgan’s character is interesting to watch.
The children are interesting too
And the cases have interesting solutions. She also has three children, so she always has to balance work and home life. In the first episode, her son actually helps her with the business, behind the scenes.
