Synopsis
In the winter of 1862, during the Civil War, the US Army sent a volunteer company to patrol the unexplored western territories. The dialogues and thoughts expressed are those the actors came up with when they lived in the wilderness and imagined being soldiers in the Civil War.

Filled with beautiful camerawork and a meditative study of the Civil War era and its characters, Minervini provides an interesting new approach to discussing the aimless and terrifying journey of soldiers wondering and observing their environment and the battles of war. Strong sound design, natural demeanor and camera help complete the tone, atmosphere and environment.
Including good direction used throughout and some fight sequences being well directed and presented
Although some of the dialogues are cringe-worthy, which at times destroys aspects of realism. As a whole, this beautiful and mediating approach to the Civil War is something that intrigued me.
I guess I’m a little pretentious lol
I know a lot of people won’t like this one, but I actually like this one.
